The Father–Child Bond

Your father was your first window onto the world.

He was the one meant to say: you can stand, you can go, I am proud of you. The way he was there, or wasn’t, became the way you learned to face the world.

A father holding his daughter, The Father–Child Bond program

Does this sound like you?

  • You’re still waiting for one word of recognition.
  • You learned to perform in order to be seen.
  • He was absent, too hard, or too far away inside himself.
  • You keep meeting him again, in a partner or a boss.
  • You never feel you’ve done enough.
  • You either fight every authority or give in to it.

How it shows up in your life

  • Overworking, and never feeling it is enough
  • Freezing or bracing around authority
  • Difficulty asking for help, or receiving it
  • Trouble with money, ambition or visibility
  • Choosing partners who feel familiar in the wrong way

None of this means something is wrong with you. It means you adapted, very well, to what you were given.

What we explore, week by week

Choose the whole program, or the sessions that call you.

WEEK 1

Recognition

The father was meant to say: you can stand, you can go, I am proud of you. We begin with the word you are still waiting for, and with what it has meant to wait for it.

WEEK 2

What His Love Depended On

Performance, obedience, silence, achievement. This week we name what his approval seemed to depend on, and how that still shapes the way you work and love.

WEEK 3

The Roles We Took

The son who carries the family, the daughter who became the son, the one who became his confidante. We look at the place you took beside him, and what it asked of you.

WEEK 4

The Father Who Looks Back

Your father had a father too. We look at the line of men behind him, what they carried and could not say, and the father you are, or fear becoming.

WEEK 5

The Body and the Reversal

The father wound often shows up as bracing, overworking or freezing around authority. We find where it lives in your body and let the old tension soften.

WEEK 6

The Shadow Day

The strength, the ambition or the anger you could not afford around him. We meet the dark and golden shadow of the father–child bond, and what was buried with it.

WEEK 7

The Inner Marriage

The King and the Warrior within: the part of you that can bless, protect and stand firm. We honor what was given, as it was, and choose the strength you add from here.

WEEK 8

The Six Initiations

Every child needs passages to step into the world, and many never received them. We walk the six initiations and claim the ones that never came.

In their words

“It wasn’t about soothing me or making things more comfortable, but an authentic invitation: ‘Do you want to look at this?’ I wholeheartedly recommend Nico.”

V.P.

“I left the session with peace, clarity and full trust in what is to unfold. Nico has a gentle, radiant and welcoming presence in which I felt held, understood and safe.”

A.M.

“The session was deeply revealing, allowing me to see dynamics I had not been fully aware of before. By the end I felt a renewed sense of clarity and confidence toward my future.”

L.G.

What to expect

  • One 3½-hour live online group session per week
  • Before each session: that week’s masterclass. Please watch it at least a day before and take your time; there is a lot in it
  • When you book: a short online assessment, multiple choice, a few minutes, no pen and paper. It helps you notice what you already know, what you feel and what you want to work on. Please complete it at least a day before you begin
  • A short piece of theory, clear and sourced
  • Guided, body-led work, shadow exercises and archetypal work
  • Time to share, and a group constellation
  • A private online community for your cohort, to stay connected between sessions, with the recordings and masterclasses in one place
  • Each session: the slides, a workbook to print and write in during the session, the recording, the bibliography and key studies on the topic
  • A list of questions to ask your mother and father, if possible: a starting point for your own conversations, to discover more of your family’s story
  • The closing sharing is never recorded, to protect everyone in the room

You leave with words for what you carry, a felt sense of how it lives in your body, and the freedom to choose what you add from here.

We work with the father who lives inside you, the inner image you formed as a child, not with your actual father. This is not about blaming him. Whether you come as a daughter or son, as a father, or as both, you are welcome. Coaching for personal growth, not therapy. If you are in crisis in the U.S., call or text 988.

Letters from Let Pain Go

Reflections on the patterns we inherit, the roles we learn to play, the places we leave behind, and the parts of ourselves we have yet to meet.

And first notice when a new workshop opens. No noise, and you can leave any time.
