About
Hi, I’m Nico Dobra.
For years, my work was about asking questions and listening for the answer beneath the answer. It began with studying journalism, followed by a few years in radio and television in Romania.
I still ask questions. Only now, I’m interested in the stories we carry within us, and the ways our bodies become part of those stories.
I came to the United States more than two decades ago and rebuilt a life from the ground up. I know what it means to carry a home inside you that no longer exists anywhere else.
I am also a mother of four. And for as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to what keeps us well, in mind, in body and in spirit. Studying journalism, and then working as a reporter and news anchor, taught me how to ask, how to listen, and how to look for the source.
In America, while working different jobs, I studied echocardiography, then worked in the field for a little over four years. Later, I trained in Bowen, Emmett and MPS techniques and used them to ease physical pain and discomfort. Those experiences left me with questions that anatomy alone couldn’t answer. What does the body carry when we don’t have the words or the images to see/make sense of it? How do our experiences shape the way we feel, react and move through life?
I became increasingly curious about the invisible loyalties we carry: to our families, our histories, and the versions of ourselves we once needed to become.
In 2017, I founded Let Pain Go around a question that continues to shape my work:
Why do we stay loyal to what hurts us?
Today, I work as a body-led life coach, exploring the connections between bodily experience, family dynamics, personal history and the patterns that shape our lives. My approach draws from Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), Ericksonian conversational hypnosis (I trained in ACH and MACH with Scott Jansen, the creator of Advanced Conversational Hypnosis, now CACH), Systemic and Family Constellations, NLP, breathwork and life coaching.
I don’t diagnose or provide psychotherapy. Instead, I offer a supportive space for reflection, body awareness and personal exploration. A place to become curious about what you’ve been carrying, understand the role it may have played in your life, and discover what you’re ready to change.
The journalist in me never left.
I continue to read, research and question, drawing from psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, history and spiritual traditions. I value scientific evidence, remain curious about what we don’t yet understand, and believe that personal experience deserves exploration without automatically becoming universal truth. Where science offers answers, I follow the evidence. Where questions remain, I say so.
Over the years I have also researched, and tried on myself, many techniques, methods, products, devices and ideas. It gave me a wider view of what’s out there, and of what holds up. The search continues every day, and so does the checking: what works, for whom, and what the evidence actually says.
As a journalist, I heard a great deal, but not all of it was worth noting, or writing about. I still work that way. What I share here is here because it matters: for the way all our parts meet each other and the world, and for a life that feels fuller, richer and more truly yours.
Thank you for reading, watching and learning with me. Let’s really live, and enjoy it along the way.
And I’m from Transylvania, after all. So yes, I have a thirst. Mine is for knowledge.
My approach
I don’t start with a method. I start with you.
Your body, your experiences, the family you belong to, and the history that shaped you. What we carry rarely exists in isolation. Sometimes what we carry has served a purpose, even when it no longer serves us. Understanding that purpose can open the door to change.
My work draws on research, documented sources and lived experience.
Feel it
A safe space to feel the weight of what you carry, for as long as it takes. We don’t rush it, and we don’t comfort it away.
See it
You begin to see what the pain has been doing for you: who you were loyal to, what it protected, what it kept alive.
Let it go
When something inside you is ready, what no longer serves you may begin to loosen its hold.
We honor what life has given us, just as it was. What comes next is yours to season.
